My Portfolio

The following sites are a selection of my work.  There are other sites but they are either not in operation any more or they do not really display my preferred style of design (ie I did what the client asked but I'm not proud of the result).  Of course the Pointy Pony Studio site was created by me.

True Psychic - Ryll Childs

URL: http://www.truepsychic.com.au

Site Type: a Joomla front end with a Zen Cart additional to handle the sales.

Owner's Instructions: To create a site that helped people feel safe and secure without being 'wussy' and full of all that 'fluffy bunny' crap most psychics use.  It should be elegant with sort of an old world feel.

My Notes: I've created sites for this person before but this is definitely the best of them.  I focussed on softer vintage colours and the client loves roses so I used that as a theme.

Altaenae di Cherae Guild Site

URL:  http://www.adcguild.info

Site Type: A straight forward Joomla site with extensions for a journal, photo gallery and calendar

Owner's Instructions: We just want a place we can post stuff about our guild.  We want a journal we can write into and an events calendar and stuff.

My Notes: I actually created this site for a couple of friends of mine in exchange for some help with some projects of my own (I will barter services).  I had them provide some screen shots of them from the game and the two girls did a lot of the design work themselves, leaving me the technical stuff.  It was really a simple project made that way by having clients who really knew what they wanted.

Kallisti RPG Playtesters Site

URL: http://www.kallisti-rpg.com

Site Type: Joomla site with many plugins to allow easy sharing of information

Owner's Instructions: The site needs to be easy to use for people not used to using websites.  It must have options for both real time communication and forums for recording detailed discussions.

My Notes: This site has most of the information behind lock and key for members only so there isn't much to see.  I went with Joomla because there are many plugins already made that met this clients needs.

Platter's Catering and Events

URL: http://www.platterscatering.com.au

Site Type: Joomla site with galleries and image sliders

Owner's Instructions: Something appropriate.  there needs to be galleries and plenty of ability to expand it.

My Notes: I find Joomla a good option for people unsure exactly where their site will go.  Also, this site had to be constructed piecemeal and updated often so the Joomla CMS was a logical choice.  Image sliders were my suggestion as the client really wanted to show off their products from the front page.

Psychic Vine.jpg

The Psychic Vine

URL: http://www.vine.crowchat.net.au

Site Type: a HTML front which includes personalised pages for each reader.  A Zen Cart back end for the nuts and bolts of taking sales.

Owner's Instructions: Something with a natural feel that needs to be straight forward and uncluttered.  We want a place where each reader can have their own unique page they can create themselves.

My Notes: A referral from the True Psychic site.  This site is very simple and straight forward.  I had each reader submit a description of what they wanted on their page an they supplied pictures they liked.  I used HTML for the front end as the site shouldn't need regular updates I went for load speed over the ability to update.
