About Pointy Pony Studio

Pointy Pony Studio truly is a one horse town.  My name is Craig Ilic and this is my business.  I started designing web pages for my own business which at the time wasn't even related to web design or hosting.  People really liked my designs and before I knew it creating web pages for others was taking more time than my other ventures!  Now, 9 years later, I find myself devoting myself to web design full time.  I started Pointy Pony Studio at the beginning of 2010 so I finally had a place I could call my own where I could work full time providing web services to clients.

I'm not backed by a team of staff, not yet anyway.  So when you contact Pointy Pony you always get to talk to me.  That means if you have any questions, problems, or anything related to your web pages you will be talking with someone who knows who you are and exactly what your site is all about.  This is the sort of one on one service I pride myself on and my clients are like extended family.  I'm not a salesman, I'm far more interested in making sure a client is happy than I am in gouging people for big sales.  I'm not the cheapest though I'm well short of the most expensive, and I wouldn't pretend I'm the best at everything, but I know I have a great track record in delivering quality work to clients.

Pointy Pony Studio is my first step in providing a full one stop service center.  I know from personal experience that chasing a half dozen different companies to get your web site operational can be incredibly frustrating.  I've sourced the best balance between quality and price that I can and I pass those years of research onto my clients for their benefit.  If you are comfortable with doing certain elements yourself then I'm happy to let you do that also.  In fact, I'll help you learn the ins and outs of maintaining your web site so you can confidently deal with your own site in time.  Basically you can give to me as little or as much work as you need, I'm here to fill in the gaps needed to keep your site online and running well.

Mission Statement

To provide quality personal service for clients to make the transition into the Internet market as painless and as easy to understand as possible.

To ensure the client understands what they are getting by explaining any net jargon used.

To provide complete honesty to the client about their web concepts to aid them in making good choices that maximises the effectiveness of their site.

But why the Pointy Pony?

First and foremost creating a unique web identity is difficult when you are walking roads well traveled by thousands before you.  The Unicorn is an old heraldic device which is fierce yet good, a symbol of strength, endurance, agility, perseverance, wisdom and playfulness, symbol of purity, hope, love and majesty, grace, finesse, and unconquerable nature.  These are all noble traits I try to uphold in the running of the Studio and in implementing my page designs.  Of course pretty much every Unicorn related name was already well in use but I also like to try to simplify the complex.  The words 'pointy pony' fell out of my mouth in jest at first but as soon as the words were said I realised I was onto something.  I have always liked plays on words and Pointy Pony is really a play, my way of embodying the high ideals represented by the Unicorn but at the same time humbling that symbol with a childlike joy I have always sought in life.  A silly name, yes, but still a name with great meaning.
